In this 2-day class Mary Ann will demonstrate and provide instruction in pastel. With instruction from IAPS Master Circle pastelist Mary Ann Pals, students will work from reference photos and learn how to choose harmonious colors to create a vibrant pastel painting.

Mary Ann will give demonstrations and will also provide individual help to students. This workshop is recommended for age 18+ advanced beginners and above.

**A few FREE sample Ludwig pastel sticks will be given to all students.

    Beginning pastel with Kathleen Kalinowski

    This one day workshop is an introductory course for students interested in learning how to use the pastel medium. We will explore various painting surfaces for pastel, how to choose the right pastel at the right time, techniques for starting, layering and blending in a painterly manner. As a class we will be painting a winter landscape. Students with some landscape painting experience may choose to bring their own winter landscape reference photo or I can provide the photo for you.
