    • 2 day workshop: Wednesday, Sept. 6 & Thursday, Sept. 7, 2017
    • 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
    • $190.00 per artist
    • 12 artist limit

Few things in nature are more beautiful to paint than a still water lake or a winding country stream. But many artists struggle to make the water in their paintings look believable. Water often creates confusing visual effects, like seeing clouds from above and the lake bottom below at the same time, or the the reflected upside down landscape. No other feature in nature changes shape, color, or moods quite like water and its natural source, clouds. In this two day workshop, Richard Jordan, Director of the Plein Air Artists of West Michigan, will share his approach to painting convincing water, point out common mistakes and how to avoid them. He will paint classroom and lakeside demonstrations and give one on one instruction as well as group wide critiques. If the water in your paintings looks less than convincing, take this opportunity to sign up, have some fun and paint water with greater confidence.

Contact Pickle Street School Studio to register.
